| During the week prior to my departure for Buenos Aires, the artist Christo installed his saffron gates in Central Park. There were 7,500 gates spread over 23 miles throughout the park. Christo was quoted as saying that "the gates mean nothing; they are just an experience." Maybe that is a good description of my attitude toward the marathon in Antarctica. |
