| In case you missed a geography class, the Republic of Maldives is an island nation south of India consisting of 26 atolls with about 1,200 islands, about 200 of which are inhabited. It has the smallest population of any Asian country and is predominantly Muslim. |
| The airport is a separate island, near the island that houses Male, the capital. I arrived on Sri Lankan airlines from Chennai via Colombo. |
| From the airport, I flew to the Hilton Maldives Resort by seaplane. Here is an air taxi at Gate 6. Above is the capital of Male. |
